Domestic Violence

Domestic Violence is a complicated social issue and responses to each situation have to be made individually as no two circumstances are exactly alike.

If children are involved in the situation or witness the abuse please notify TCG staff ASAP so that the safety of the children can be secured by working with law enforcement and/or child welfare agencies.

If the situation only involves adults- we cannot force an individual to leave a situation or seek help. Ask the individual if they need help if they say yes:

• Ask if they would like to leave the situation.

• Ask if they would like to make a police report.

• Contact a TCG Staff member for help finding a place for the individual to go.

If they say no to help:

• provide them with this list of local resources from Springfield MO Poverty.

• please notify a TCG staff member so we are aware of the situation as well and can help provide support on an ongoing basis.
