There is a new church coming to the north side of Springfield!
The Connecting Grounds is an interdenominational church plant with a deep love for our city and meeting the needs of people in the Midtown, Grant Beach, Woodland Heights, Weller, Robberson, and Doling neighborhoods.
This new church will be located next to the Save-A-Lot grocery store in the Northview Shopping Center located at the corner of Commercial and National Streets. They will hold weekly worship services on Sunday mornings and Tuesday evenings.
In addition to regular worship services, this building will serve our community is a wide variety of ways:
A place Foster Families to come to do safe and intentional visits with one another.
A location for community meetings and events to be held.
A food and clothing bank to meet needs of individuals and families.
A place for individuals to come and for free internet access at times during the week.
Eventually, we also want to offer:
A host for free counseling and mental health support.
A free after-school tutoring program for students.
A before school program to give kids a safe place to go when parents work early hours.
A microloan program to support job and skills training in order to help families break out of poverty.
Before any of these great benefits can be offered, The Connecting Grounds must remodel the building that they are leasing. We are seeking help and support from area individuals, businesses, and organizations who share their passion for this area of Springfield and want to help bring needed resources, support, and hope into these six neighborhoods.
