Crisis Cold Weather Shelters

These shelters are only open from 8 PM-7 AM between November 1st-March 31st on nights that it is 32 degrees or colder between the hours of 10 PM and 4 AM.

  • DescriptEast Sunshine Church of Christ @ 3721 E. Sunshine. 50 beds

    Sacred Heart Catholic Church @ 1609 N. Summitt Ave., 25 Beds and only open the 2 coldest nights each week. ion text goes here

  • Grace United Methodist Church @ 600 S. Jefferson Ave. 25 Beds.

  • Unity of Springfield @ 2214 E. Seminole Street. 25 Beds.

  • Fairbanks. 1126 N. Broadway 35 beds available and pets.

Crisis Year-Round Overnight Shelters

  • Victory Mission- ID required, No sex offenders, must pass UA, sobriety required. Has a free side for 30 days and a paid side past that. Located at 1610 N. Broadway. Call 417-864-2235 for information and availability.

    Harbor House- ID required, No sex offenders must pass UA, sobriety required, background checks. Located at 636 N. Boonville Ave. Call 417-831-3371 for information and availability.

  • Safe to Sleep is open 7:30 PM-7:30 AM Call 417-862-3586 for bed availability and location information.

    Lifehouse Maternity House - call 417-720-4213 for information and availability.

Day Shelters

  • 806 N. Jefferson, Springfield MO 65802

    Open 8 AM- 5 PM daily.

    Breakfast and lunch are served.

  • 819 N. Boonville Ave

  • During EXTREME Cold weather, the city opens warming shelters at the following locations: All Greene County Library branches. Note that locations may open late if Springfield Public Schools are closed.

    Salvation Army on 636 North Boonville Avenue will let you enter the lobby and have a cup of coffee to warm up.

    Ozarks Technical Community College at 1001 E. Chestnut Expressway

  • All Springfield Public Libraries are open during regular business hours to allow people to come in and cool off as needed.

    All three Springfield-Greene County Park Board Family Centers and Jordan Valley Ice Park open their entrance lobbies as free public cooling centers during Heat Advisories. All lobbies have seating, restroom access, and air conditioning. No formal programming is planned.
